Military Burns Down 100 Homes in Kyauk O Village, Pakokku Township

In a series of attacks, the military has set fire to Kyauk O village in Pakokku Township, destroying approximately 100 civilian homes between April 11 and April 15, according to local residents. On April 11, the military forces burned down 81 civilian houses within the village. Following this, on April 14, they continued to set fire to additional civilian homes that had previously escaped damage. On April 15, the military also targeted shelters used by internally displaced persons in the southern part of Kyauk O village. A local resident reported, “For two consecutive days, around 100 homes have been engulfed in flames. Today, they even went on to burn the shelters where displaced people from the south of the village are staying. Some food supplies have also been lost in the fire. We do not know the full extent of the situation yet, as the dogs are still roaming the village.”
