Military Airstrikes and Artillery Attacks on Mattaya and Nwahtokyi Villages Injure 9 Civilians and Damage Homes

In villages of Mattaya Township in Mandalay Region, nine civilians have been reported injured due to artillery fire from the military junta, according to local residents.

On the evening of August 28, around 8:30 PM, seven military helicopters from the Mandalay port area launched an assault on villages located in the eastern part of Mattaya Township using heavy and small arms.

As a result of the military’s indiscriminate attacks, seven civilians from Ngyaetaw village sustained injuries, and two more were injured in the Oktaungkyin village due to artillery fire from the junta troops stationed in Mattaya.
