Kanpyar Village, located near Debayin Township in Sagaing Region, has been repeatedly set on fire and destroyed by the military, forcing residents to flee continuously, according to Htoo Khant Zaw (A May’s Son), a spokesperson for the People’s Defense Comrade based in Ye-U. On the afternoon of September 9, junta soldiers stationed in Debayin entered the village and set fire to civilian homes, further displacing the remaining residents. The military had been targeting the village since August 18, conducting multiple raids, leaving villagers with no choice but to remain in hiding.
