Junta Airstrikes on Than Dwe and Butheetaung Kill Two Civilians, Injure Five Others

In Rakhine State, Myanmar, an airstrike by the junta’s forces resulted in the deaths of two civilians, including a monk, and left five others injured, according to reports. The airstrike took place on November 10, 2024, targeting Than Dwe and Butheetaung towns.

At approximately 3 a.m. on November 10, military aircraft dropped 500-pound bombs on TMP factory in Than Dwe’s Ward 8 and the An Taw Dan Bridge, causing explosions, according to local residents. A 35-year-old local from Than Dwe described the incident, saying, “A woman who was in a calm state and another woman died. The bombs hit three places: one at TMP factory, another at the Taung Kut car gate, and the third at the An Taw Dan Bridge. There was significant damage.”

The victims of the airstrike were identified as Daw Su Su Hlaing and Ma Woi Sin Ma, both from Than Dwe. Authorities confirmed their deaths and reported five other individuals sustained injuries in the attack.
