Airstrike in Nwahtogyi Township Kills Two Civilians, Including a Child, and Destroys Homes, School, and Monastery

An airstrike by the junta in Nwahtogyi Township, Mandalay Region, killed two civilians, including a nine-year-old boy, and caused extensive damage to homes, a monastery, and a primary school, according to local sources.

The attack occurred on December 4 between 12:15 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. in Lonta and Kannhnyoung villages, despite the absence of any reported clashes in the area. The victims were identified as nine-year-old Maung Aung Pyae Sone from Lonta Village and 36-year-old Ko Hein Min from Kannhnyoung Village. Both villages suffered significant destruction from the bombing.

The airstrike also injured six civilians, including a monk, in Lonta Village and left one person wounded in Kannhnyoung Village. Residents reported severe structural damage to homes, as well as to a monastery and a primary school in the affected areas.

This incident highlights the increasing use of airstrikes by the junta, causing devastation to civilian lives and infrastructure in regions with no active conflict.
