Four Civilians, Including Two Infants, Killed in Military Shelling of Kin Mun Taung Village; 20 Homes Burned in Naung Cho and Oum Tee Villages

In Magway Region’s Seik Phyu Township, a military artillery strike on Kin Mun Taung Village killed four civilians, including two infants, according to a spokesperson from the Spring Revolution – Mying Township Committee.

The attack occurred around 5:30 p.m. on January 26 when Battalion 22 of the junta forces fired a 120mm artillery shell that struck Kin Mun Taung Village. The explosion killed four people, including two infants, and injured two others.

“There was no active fighting in the area. The military simply fired indiscriminately. Among those killed were two infants believed to be just a few months old,” said the spokesperson.

Additionally, in Naung Cho and Oum Tee villages, the military reportedly torched 20 houses, causing extensive damage and displacement of residents.
