In Mandalay Region’s Myin Gyan Township, the military junta carried out an aerial bombing near Sin Gwat Village’s school and surrounding areas, resulting in the deaths of 19 people, including an infant and a four-year-old child, according to local residents.
The attack took place around 8 a.m. on January 26 when the junta forces dropped two 500-pound bombs on Sin Gwat Village School using a jet fighter. This was followed by additional attacks from an MI-35 helicopter that fired at various areas in and around Sin Gwat Village.
The bombing caused the deaths of a family near a riverside cargo site, which included an infant and a four-year-old child. The attack on the village school also resulted in the deaths of 18 civilians, including a breastfeeding mother and her infant, as well as one member of a local defense force, bringing the total fatalities to 19.
Additionally, eight homes in the village were burned to ashes as a result of the military’s operations.
