Military troops advancing through Pauk Township, Magway Region, burned alive a resident of Makyee Sin Village, identified as Ko Win Soe, and set fire to multiple homes, according to local sources.
Since early February, junta forces deployed from Mying Township’s Industrial Zone 2 have been raiding villages across Pauk Township, destroying homes and committing acts of arson. During their latest assault on Makyee Sin Village, they killed Ko Win Soe by burning him alive before torching numerous houses.
Thousands of civilians have been forced to flee to safety due to the military’s operations. As of now, the troops are reportedly retreating from Kauk Kone Su, a Pyu Saw Htee stronghold in Pauk Township, towards the border area between Pauk and Mying townships, while continuing indiscriminate artillery fire along their route.
