At least 20 civilians, including children, were reportedly killed after the Myanmar military carried out two aerial bombardments on Nan Kham Village in Wuntho Township, Sagaing Region, according to a representative from Kawlin Info.
The first airstrike took place around 3 p.m. on April 9, when a jet fighter dropped bombs on Nan Kham Village (also known as Joe Taung Nan Kham), followed by a second bombing at approximately 6 p.m. the same day. Both attacks were launched by the military against the civilian village, sources say.
“There are civilian casualties. As of now, preliminary information indicates that more than 20 people have been killed. However, the exact death toll is still being verified,” said a Kawlin Info representative who is closely monitoring the situation.
The deadly airstrikes have sparked fresh concerns over the military’s continued use of airpower against civilian populations in resistance-held territories, particularly in Sagaing Region, where intense fighting and displacement have persisted for months.
