Demonstration in Seoul Demands Release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Political Prisoners

A protest march was held in Seoul, South Korea, to mark the 80th birthday of Myanmar democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, calling for an end to military rule and the release of political prisoners, according to reports.

The protest was organized by the Anti-Junta Committee. Around 300 people from various organizations took part, marching from Boshingak Park in central Seoul to Myeong-dong Station while voicing their demands.

U Yan Naing Tun, the representative of Myanmar’s National Unity Government (NUG) to South Korea, also attended the event. He delivered a speech in support of the revolution and extended birthday wishes for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. In addition, NLD-OC Korea Chapter read aloud a message from the National League for Democracy (NLD) addressed to the people of Myanmar.
