In Chaung-U Township, local residents organized a blue ribbon protest marking the 80th birthday of Myanmar’s pro-democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, calling for her unconditional release along with that of all political prisoners.
The protest was held discreetly at an undisclosed location in the township, where participants wore blue ribbons on their wrists to symbolize their demand for the immediate and unconditional freedom of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all others unjustly detained under the military regime.
