In Sagaing Region’s Salin Gyi Township, the bodies of two civilians from Ton Ywar Thit Village, who were killed by military forces, were discovered on June 27. The victims, identified as Ko Pauksa and Ko Kyin Whet, had been detained and murdered after soldiers raided their village on June 23. Their bodies were later found near Shwe Oo Gyi Pagoda, and local villagers conducted cremation rites after confirming their identities.
According to residents, a foul smell led villagers to the site where the two bodies were found. The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition, further confirming that the victims were Ko Pauksa and Ko Kyin Whet, who had been missing since the military’s raid. The villagers performed cremation rites after the bodies were retrieved.
Similarly, on June 25, a young man visiting from Yangon was detained and killed by military forces in Aung Chan Myae Village during a raid. His phone had raised suspicion among the soldiers, leading to his death and secret burial. The young man was a visitor without close relatives in the village, making further investigation difficult, though locals have marked the burial site.
