Residents from Pyu Thang village in Khun U Township reported that two farmers from Myin Kya village, U Zaw Win Aung and Ko Bo Hein, were shot dead by Pyu Saw Htee earlier today. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when the two local farmers were working in their rice fields. Local sources indicate that the Pyu Saw Htee members arrived and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of the two farmers, aged 47 and 30, respectively.
One local resident recounted, “They went to the fields to cultivate rice, and the dogs from Pyu Thang came and shot them. The deceased were U Zaw Win Aung, 47 years old, and Ko Bo Hein, 30 years old. Myin Kya village is closely located to Pyu Thang village, which has a strong presence of junta troops.” The bodies were collected by locals around 2 p.m., and it was noted that some farmers fled the scene during the shooting.
In a separate incident on August 4, in Sagaing Region, junta forces attacked businessman U Myint San and another businessman without any apparent reason in the village of Zawhtang. Around 10:30 p.m., the military raided U Myint San’s home and shot him. Reports indicate that he sustained two gunshot wounds to his lower back, and the reasons for the attack remain unclear. Additionally, three women were detained at a tea shop during the military’s operation on that night.
