In the Sagaing Region’s Salin Gyi Township, the military junta has reportedly set fire to Ngwe Thaw Village, resulting in the destruction of around 30 homes without any ongoing clashes. Local residents disclosed that on September 19, the junta forces entered the village and targeted the homes of affluent residents and supporters of the NLD party.
According to a local resident, “Ngwe Thaw New Village and Ngwe Thaw Old Village combined have about 300 houses. The military attacked the closest village, claiming they found PDF camps nearby. There were no clashes, but the military killed pigs in the village. Fortunately, there were no arrests or injuries among the villagers, but they had to flee.”
