One Dead and Eleven Injured as Military Attacks Three Villages in Sagaing Township

In Sagaing Township, the military launched an attack on three villages, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to eleven others due to heavy weapon fire. Reports indicate that on the evening of October 24, the military targeted Nyang Pin Tha, Kin, and Pauk Ka villages, firing upon civilians who were fleeing to the banks of the river.

It has been confirmed that the victim, Ko Thein U from Pauk Ka village, was killed during the attack, and his female companion, along with ten other civilians, suffered serious injuries.

According to a local resident, “Three military vehicles entered the area, indiscriminately firing heavy and small weapons at villagers fleeing to the riverbank. Ko Thein U was killed instantly, and his partner suffered severe wounds to her abdomen. A 60-year-old man from Kin village was also hit in the arm by a bullet, while seven women and two men from Pauk Ka village were injured.”
