November 15, 2022

A representative from the Yawalin Tan group reported that military arson in two villages in Saw Township remains uncontrolled into the evening. The military began its attacks on Lepan Village around 11 AM today and subsequently set fire to Pasote Village after three hours. They returned later in the evening for a second assault on Lepan Village.

Local citizens reported that five people, including a monk, have been arrested by the military from Lepan Village. “Fires in Lepan and Pasote Villages are still raging. Citizens and defense groups are trying to intervene. The flames are large and uncontrollable,” a representative from Yawalin Tan stated. “Lepan Village is in a dire situation. It has been attacked twice, with over 50 homes estimated to have been lost. We still cannot extinguish the fire, and there could be further destruction.”
