The military torched over 600 homes, including a century-old Christian church, in Chanmtha Village, Ye-U Township, Sagaing Region, according to local residents. The village has been set ablaze for the fourth time on January 14 and 15, leaving the historic Christian church in ashes.

“This morning, the military burned everything, including the church. It’s the fourth time they’ve set fire to our village. The first time was on July 6 last year, the second on July 7, and the third on December 14. Now, they’ve done it twice more over these two days, and the entire village has been destroyed. Over 600 homes were burned down. Fortunately, no villagers were harmed. More than 10,000 people from 15 nearby villages have been forced to flee,” a local resident reported.
