Military Arson in Shwe Nyaung Village Leaves Six Houses Burned and Cattle Slaughtered

Reports indicate that Myanmar’s military set fire to six houses in Shwe Nyaung Village, located in the Khin U Township of Sagaing Region, resulting in the slaughter of cattle. This information was provided by the Khin U Township True News Network.

On January 28, a group of around 30 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members, stationed at a military outpost along the Khin U-Ye U road, reportedly entered the village of approximately 200 households and fired weapons indiscriminately before setting the village ablaze.

The military’s arson attack led to the destruction of six private homes in Shwe Nyaung Village, as well as the slaughter of a farming cow. Around 20 individuals suffered burn injuries, and significant damage was inflicted on agricultural machinery and water pumps.

Additionally, it was reported that the military personnel looted food supplies, backpacks, and mobile phones from the villagers. During their retreat from the village, they also stole four mobile phones and cash from four women, according to the Khin U Township True News Network.
