The Myanmar military has shelled and destroyed the Naung Kyo monastery in Si-Sai Township, Southern Shan State, in the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone, according to the PNLA News and Information Department. On the morning of May 27, the military’s shelling hit and damaged the monastery hall, as well as a civilian house. The military has been targeting the homes and possessions of the Pa-O people, and the attack on their revered monasteries continues, the PNLA Department said.
