TNLA Captures Three Military Bases in Momeik Township Amid Ongoing Clashes in Nyaungcho, Thipaw, and Mokot Townships

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported capturing three military bases of the junta in Momeik Township, northern Shan State, while clashes continue to intensify in the nearby areas of Nyaungcho, Thipaw, and Mokot.

On July 8, around 4:44 AM, fighting erupted in Nyaungcho Township between TNLA and Myanmar military forces at the 606 Infantry Battalion base.

In the afternoon of July 7, TNLA successfully launched a decisive attack on several military bases of the junta located in Momeik Township, specifically the Lakupin, Lakupin Tank, and Lekgyi bases.

Today, July 8, fighting occurred near the Thipaw Bridge at around 10:20 AM between TNLA and military forces. Similar clashes took place in Mokot Township around Mile 5 and near Aikhsong Hill, where TNLA and the junta’s forces, including the LaPak and Khalaya 88 and 148 units, engaged in combat. Reports indicate that a junta jet fighter conducted an airstrike in the area of the clashes, striking once.

In another report, the junta’s Kamara 501 base in Kaungmae Township launched four artillery strikes on Peace Hill today, July 8, while the military stationed in Momeik also bombarded Shwezalay village four times with heavy weapons.

In Nyaungcho Township, the junta’s forces conducted eight airstrikes with a Y12 aircraft around the vicinity of the 606 Infantry Battalion and one airstrike with a jet fighter on a school located within Nyaungcho township.
