Military Attacks on Chaung Gyi Village in Shwebo Township with Y-12 Aircraft for Two Consecutive Days; Civilians Report Attacks on Surrounding Villages

Residents have reported that the military has conducted airstrikes on Chaung Gyi village in Shwebo Township for two consecutive days. On July 31 and today, August 1, around 8 AM, the military attacked Chaung Gyi village using a Y-12 aircraft.

“Chaung Gyi village has been bombed daily since July. It continued again yesterday and today. We are not sure about the extent of the damage yet. We haven’t been able to return to the village,” a local resident stated.

Additionally, the military conducted bombings on Chaung Gyi village for seven consecutive days from July 19 to July 25, resulting in the deaths of at least seven civilians. Reports indicate that schools, monasteries, and 48 homes were also destroyed during this period.
