The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) and People’s Defense Force (PDF) coalition have released 297 detainees, including 80 injured soldiers, who were captured during operations by the Eastern Command Headquarters in Lashio, Shan State, according to military sources.
On August 23, MNDAA and PDF forces handed over the 297 captives, including the injured soldiers, following negotiations. The SSPP (Shan State Progress Party) facilitated the transfer and assisted with their safe passage.
“Today, MNDAA and PDF released 297 detainees, including 80 wounded soldiers who had been captured during the seizure of Lashio (HQ). The SSPP assisted with the logistics and ensured a smooth handover,” the military source stated.
