Intense fighting has resumed for three consecutive days in Kachin State, particularly around Mohawk and Mansi, as the military launched renewed offensives, leading to significant casualties on the military side, according to KIA sources.
On August 24, military forces from the junta initiated attacks from the direction of Bamaw, resulting in heavy clashes between KIA and military troops over a distance of 6 to 5 miles.
Similarly, military operations targeting Mansi have also intensified, with fierce fighting reported in the Kaungzayan area, located between Mansi and Bamaw.
A KIA military source stated, “The military dogs from Bamaw have resumed their assaults toward Mohawk, resulting in intense fighting over a distance of 6 to 5 miles for three days. Additionally, troops have attacked from Mansi, causing fierce clashes in the Kaungzayan area between Mansi and Bamaw. The military is suffering heavy casualties and cannot advance.”
