In Di-Pyayain city of Sagaing Region, the military junta is persistently burning down residential homes, and with the incessant rain, over a thousand displaced civilians are in urgent need of food supplies, as reported by Tu Khant Zaw, a spokesperson for the People’s Defense Comrades.
Since August 20, armed forces have been burning down privately owned homes in Di-Pyayain city, with reports indicating that the arson attacks continued until August 28.
The ongoing military arson has resulted in significant destruction in several neighborhoods, including the western quarter, Tanpyin quarter, Aye Myawadi ward, near Sayar San monastery, and many houses in the city center.
Currently, the displaced civilians from Di-Pyayain city and the surrounding areas, totaling over a thousand, are facing shortages of food supplies due to continuous rain and increasing population density.
The displaced population includes children, pregnant women, and elderly individuals who are particularly vulnerable, raising concerns over health care and the possibility of military incursions. It has been reported that residents are unable to return to their villages due to fears of military aggression.
