Military Airstrikes in Taungkok Township Kill Four Civilians, Including a 9-Year-Old Child

In Taungkok Township, Rakhine State, military airstrikes targeted the Kintaung Sanpyu village this morning, October 4, around 2 AM, resulting in the deaths of four civilians, including a 9-year-old child. Local residents reported that there were also injuries among the villagers.

A local resident stated, “In our area, an elderly man and an elderly woman have died, and a little child has also passed away. One person from the upper part of the village died as well. Many people are injured, and they have been sent for medical treatment. It appears that the military junta bombed us without any battle.”

The deceased individuals were identified as U Maung Hla Tin, 70 years old; Daw Myat Htin, 67; Maung Zin Htein, 9; and Daw Myo Kyi, 56. At least three bombs dropped by the military junta hit the Kintaung village, leading to the reported casualties and the destruction of ten homes.

Additionally, it was reported that on October 2, around midnight, an airstrike on Khaunglon Taung village injured a 7-year-old child in the head. Furthermore, an airstrike on September 24, around 9 PM, targeted the rural areas of Taungkok Township, resulting in the deaths of two men over the age of 30 and injuries to at least three others.
