In the Nyauglepin District of the Kachin State, the military junta’s forces launched an attack with heavy weapons and drones, resulting in the death of one innocent civilian and injuries to another, according to a report from the KNU Central Committee.
The incident occurred on October 3 at approximately 11:45 AM, near the Ingani village in the Shwekyin Township, where clashes took place between the junta’s combined forces, including units Kha La-57, Kha Ma Ra-350, and Kha Ma Ra-349, and the Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A). Following the conflict, the junta’s forces indiscriminately shelled the Ingani village, injuring a 23-year-old local named Ma Aye Thida.
Similarly, on the same day at around 11:12 AM, in the KNU-controlled area of Hlaingbwe Township, two heavy artillery shells were fired into a monastery and football field near the village of Hlaedone. At the same time, three bombs were dropped by drones in the new village of Dawkyae, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old woman, Daw Yin Thwe.
Additionally, on September 30, around 2 PM, two men from Inkon village, Saw Thee Mu and Naw Tha Da Phaw, were taken by Saw Soe Naing Win, who was working for the Kyauk Taung Police Station, for questioning at the station. Saw Thee Mu was released afterward but was extorted for 900,000 kyats on October 4, while Naw Tha Da Phaw remains detained.
