The military junta’s airstrikes have reportedly destroyed the Namya Hydropower Plant located in Naungmun Village, Larshio Township, according to a statement from the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).
On the afternoon of October 16, military aircraft conducted airstrikes on the Namya Hydropower Plant in the Naungmun Village area of Larshio Township, dropping a total of four bombs. The attacks resulted in significant damage to the plant’s generators, electrical wires, and various structures.
Additionally, on the afternoon of October 14, military forces bombed an uninhabited power plant in Ward 1 of Larshio, causing damage to some equipment and resulting in the death of one local civilian while another was injured. Numerous homes were also destroyed during the incident. The military has been continuously targeting residential areas in Larshio and Thane Ni towns, as well as schools, markets, and other public infrastructures, leading to numerous civilian casualties, according to the MNDAA.
The MNDAA has reported that the military junta has intensified airstrikes across the entire Larshio Township since August 30, causing increasing civilian casualties and damage to buildings and homes.
