In Shwepyitha Township, Yangon, a 21-year-old man, Maung Thet Lin (aka) Thiha Htun, was reportedly detained and beaten by border police officer Si Thu Aung and two other unidentified individuals. The local ward administrator, Nay Lin Aung, and deputy administrator, Maung Oo, allegedly handed him over to the military as a new recruit, according to local residents.
On October 7, at around 4:30 PM, Maung Thet Lin (aka) Thiha Htun was reportedly apprehended while returning from a phone repair in Shwepyitha Township, Aung Myitta (Na) 14 Ward. He was allegedly beaten and detained by Si Thu Aung and two other men. Following the arrest, the case was handed over to the ward administrators Nay Lin Aung and Maung Oo, who then sent him to military training as a new recruit.
