Victims of Airstrike in Moemauk to Be Buried Today, Including Children and Civilians

In Moemauk Township, Kachin State, the victims of an airstrike carried out by the military on November 15, including children and civilians, will be buried today with Christian religious ceremonies and prayers, according to local sources.

The airstrike occurred at around 4 PM on November 15, when the military, using aircraft, bombed a Christian church sheltering displaced civilians in Konlao village in Moemauk Township. The attack resulted in the deaths of 9 civilians, including children, and over 10 others sustained injuries.

Local sources reported that some of the injured were transported to Laiza for medical treatment. “The injured from the airstrike have arrived in Laiza for medical care,” one source stated.

Furthermore, reports indicate that some of the injured are in critical condition, with fears that the death toll could rise as more casualties are being treated. The ongoing recovery process has led to further concern about the increasing number of victims.
