Myanmar military airstrikes on Aung Thar village in Mandalay Region’s Nahtogyi Township killed three family members, including a 13-year-old child, despite the absence of active clashes in the area, local sources reported.

The attack occurred on December 5 at approximately 4:45 a.m. when military aircraft dropped bombs on the village. Victims included 48-year-old Kyaw Thu Moe, his 46-year-old wife Khin Aye Kyin, and their son, 13-year-old Aung Pyae Lyan.

“The bombs directly hit their home, killing the entire family. Additionally, five of their six cows were killed, and their house was destroyed,” said Ohn Khaing, a resistance supporter in the village.

This airstrike is one of several recent attacks by the military in Nahtogyi Township. On December 4, at around 1 p.m., the military targeted a monastery between Lone Taw and Thaman Taw villages, resulting in the death of a monk and a layperson, as well as injuring several others.

On December 2, at around 4 p.m., an airstrike hit a Korean language training center on the outskirts of Nabe Myit village, killing two students.

In a separate incident on October 23, at 2:40 p.m., military jets bombed a hillside monastery in Minzon Taung forest near eastern Nahtogyi. The attack injured an 80-year-old abbot and destroyed the monastery’s main building and prayer hall.

Local residents condemned these airstrikes, emphasizing that they occurred in civilian areas with no ongoing clashes.
