Three Civilians Killed, Over 200 Homes Torched in Junta and Pyusawhti Raid on Thit Yone Village

A military raid accompanied by Pyusawhti militia forces in Thit Yone Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, resulted in the deaths of three civilians and the destruction of over 200 homes by fire, according to local residents.

The attack occurred on the morning of December 6 at around 6 a.m. The junta forces and Pyusawhti militia entered the village, reportedly clashing with resistance forces. Heavy casualties were inflicted on the junta’s side, while two resistance fighters were also killed during the encounter. Amid the clashes, junta forces fired artillery into the village, killing three civilians and injuring one, according to sources.

Following the skirmish, junta soldiers reportedly set fire to approximately 200 civilian homes in the village before retreating toward Myingyan town. The raid and subsequent destruction have left the affected residents in despair, with many forced to flee for their safety.

This incident is part of a pattern of increased military aggression targeting civilian areas across Myanmar, causing widespread displacement and hardship.
