Two military helicopters attacked and burned down the entire village of Thapyay Aye in Yinmarbin Township. Thapyay Aye village in Yinmarbin Township, Sagaing Region, was attacked today, February 28, by the terrorist military council using two Mi-35 helicopters, according to local sources. Around 60 soldiers from the junta were deployed from regular helicopters, burning down civilian homes, including a monastery.
“Currently, it’s unclear how many homes were burned down in the village. There are 230 houses in Thapyay Aye. We’ve heard that one villager was hit by artillery, but we cannot confirm the details yet,” a local resident reported to the Yangon New Times.
It has also been reported that residents of nearby villages, including Kyauk Pyote, Moe Kaung, and Oo Pho, are fleeing for safety alongside the people of Thapyay Aye.
