In celebration of Aung San Suu Kyi’s 77th birthday, the Basic Education General Strike Committee of Myingyan District, along with the public, staged a protest today, June 19. Holding banners reading “We will break the iron fist of the authoritarian regime,” the protesters demonstrated against the fascist military regime. The Myingyan Village Resistance Force (MVRF) supported the demonstration for the security of the strike. The event reflects the continued resistance against the military’s oppression and the ongoing struggle for democracy and human rights in Myanmar.
