On June 21, the military invaded Kamphyu village in the Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, reportedly setting fire to 15 civilian homes. Local sources indicate that the military used heavy and light weaponry to attack the village before retreating, during which they arrested a monk and a civilian, who have yet to be released. On June 23, the military also attacked Yanlin Fine village in the Tanmu Township, burning civilian homes and detaining two villagers, according to residents. A local resident remarked, “In recent days, fighting has intensified between the military and PDF forces near Yanlin Fine village. Previously, the military had attacked a monastery, causing extensive damage. Innocent villagers are terrified and are fleeing, while the military indiscriminately burns homes. Even when people try to escape, the military remains oblivious to their plight.”
