Military Junta Forces Enter Kan U Township’s Lekpanhlah Village, Killing Two and Burning Over 20 Homes

Armed forces of the military junta entered Lekpanhlah village in Kan U Township, Sagaing Region, today around 9 AM, reportedly killing two civilians, according to local residents.

The brutal military troops shot and killed Ko Tin Moe Win, a villager, and also burned to death Daw Phwar Si, an elderly woman over 80 years old, along with destroying more than 20 homes belonging to the villagers.

“Around 9 AM today, the military entered the village disguised as civilians, similar to PDF formations. Upon entering the village, they shot Ko Tin Moe Win first. They also burned Daw Phwar Si, who is over 80 years old, to death. They destroyed over 20 homes belonging to the villagers,” said a local resident.

It is reported that after entering Lekpanhlah village, the brutal military also moved on to invade Laungshae village, although details regarding the casualties and destruction there have not yet been confirmed.
