The military junta has announced that they have charged Japanese documentarian Toru Kubota under Article 13(1) of the Law on the Protection of the State and Section 505(a) of the Penal Code.
Toru Kubota, a Japanese national, was arrested alongside two anti-regime protesters in Taungdwingyi, Yangon Region, on July 30. According to the military’s statement, Kubota entered Yangon on July 1 on a tourist visa and participated in the protest on July 30.
