Inauguration Ceremony of NUG Representative Office in Australia

An inauguration ceremony for the National Unity Government (NUG) Representative Office in Australia was held at the Canberra College hall on August 6, 2022, Saturday, at 12 PM, aimed at bringing together families from Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra. Over 500 attendees, comprising Myanmar-born and Myanmar-descended families, participated in the event.

During the ceremony, the representatives from the National Unity Government, including Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung and Minister of Justice U Thein U, delivered letters of support. The Deputy Minister of Human Rights, Khun Bahant, attended the event and gave a speech. Also, Mr. Saw Lwin U, the National President of the Australian Karen Organisation, along with Academician Min Maung, shared their remarks. Furthermore, the representative Dr. Tun Aung Shwe provided an overview of the establishment of the office and some of the upcoming processes and activities.
