Reports from local residents indicate that the military has killed seven civilians in Kaney and Myaung Townships. The bodies of two civilians, who had been arrested and executed by the military, were discovered today, September 2, in the morning near Aunpinseik Village.

The corpses of the two individuals were found decomposing in a ditch close to Aunpinseik Village, but their identities have not yet been confirmed. A local resident stated, “On the morning of August 30, a military operation entered Aunpinseik Village. After three days of clearing the area, we found the bodies, which were in a state of decomposition. We are still investigating to find out who they are. The deceased showed signs of multiple injuries across their bodies, with stab wounds to the neck and gunshot wounds to the head.”

It was observed that the deceased wore civilian clothing, including long-sleeved shirts and trousers, leading locals to believe they were shot and then discarded in the ditch. Similarly, in Myaung Township, locals reported that five residents were killed by the military between September 1 and September 2.

The military conducted an incursion into Kyaungyi Village from the Kyaukrit police station around 5 a.m. on September 2, executing two local residents, U Htun Hla and U Htun Naing. It is known that as the military entered Kyaungyi Village, residents fled in panic, during which U Htun Hla was shot, while U Htun Naing was beaten and executed by the military.

On September 1, the military also fired heavy weapons into Zikyun and Thanatkone Villages, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuring six others, according to local reports.
