“Military Detains Nearly 500 Villagers in Pyawbwe Due to Missing 7 Firearms”

Local sources report that nearly 500 villagers in Pyawbwe village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, are being detained and interrogated by the military following the disappearance of seven firearms from the village administrator’s residence. It is said that the firearms were taken by PDF (People’s Defense Force) members. On September 29, at around 1 PM, soldiers stationed in Myingyan Township were drinking alcohol when the firearms went missing. The villagers have stated, “The military has detained nearly 500 villagers in the school, interrogating and beating them. Since September 29, we haven’t even eaten rice. Everyone in the village has been forced to turn off their phones, and news is being suppressed.”
