In Hpakant, Kachin State, all civilian victims of the recent military airstrike have been laid to rest today. It has been confirmed that among those buried are popular singer Aurali and keyboardist Ko Kin. Their bodies, along with those of other civilians, were interred this afternoon.
Veteran Kachin actor Zaw Dan is also among the wounded and is currently receiving medical treatment, along with seven other musicians. Due to roadblocks set up by the military around Hpakant, many victims, including those who bled to death and others who succumbed to severe injuries, could not be transported to the hospital in time. Reports indicate that casualties continue to rise, even into the evening.
According to sources from Yangon Modern Times, over 80 people have been confirmed dead, with more than 50 injured in the airstrike.
