Junta Arrests Two Civilians in Pakokku; KLG Member Killed in Mine Accident in Kani

In Pakokku, Magway Region, the junta arrested two local civilians after allegedly discovering homemade explosives in Ward 11, according to residents. On February 8, around 2 PM, soldiers opened fire and detained a truck driver and a motorcycle taxi driver between Myin Road and Shwe Road in Ward 11, after claiming to have found explosive materials.

“They shot and arrested a truck driver and a motorcycle taxi driver around 2 PM between Myin Road and Shwe Road in Ward 11. They said they found homemade explosives, and I hope the other people in the area are aware to avoid such situations,” said a local resident.

The current status of the two arrested individuals is unknown, but local residents express concern for their safety due to the severity of the injuries inflicted during the arrest.

Additionally, in Kani Township, Sagaing Region, a member of the KLG was reported killed in a mine accident near Pyusawhti village. According to an official from the KLG PDF, on February 8, an explosive device detonated, resulting in the death of police officer Zawgyi from the KLG PDF.
