At the 44th anniversary of the Gwangju Uprising held in South Korea, National Unity Government (NUG) Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung delivered a speech regarding the current situation of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution. The event was organized by the Gwangju 5.18 Foundation.
In her speech, the NUG Foreign Minister emphasized the goals of the Spring Revolution, the agreement on the future federal democracy, the current situation of the revolution, and the need for international support. She also acknowledged the importance of the Gwangju Uprising in Korea’s democratic history and expressed the desire for the world to recognize the significance of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution in its own democratic journey.
The 44th anniversary ceremony was attended by political parties, democratic organizations in South Korea, international activists, and NUG Union Minister U Tin Tun Naing of the Ministry of Planning, Finance, and Investment. Additionally, four documentaries directed by Nway Ngyein, depicting the struggles of CDM staff, were screened at the event.
