268 Civilians Killed, 640 Injured by Military Attacks in Rakhine

A total of 268 civilians have been killed and 640 injured in Rakhine due to attacks by the Myanmar military, according to a statement from the Arakan Army (AA). The fatalities occurred between November 13, 2023, and May 13, 2024, during six months of conflict. Among the dead are 182 Rakhine, 78 Muslims, three Mro, two Bamar, two Khumi, and one Maramagyi, according to the AA’s Humanitarian and Development Coordination Office (HDCO). The report also notes that 509 Rakhine, 112 Muslims, eight Maramagyi, six Khumi, five Chaw, and two Mro were among the injured.
