Military Shelling in Ye-U and Shweku Townships Results in Two Civilian Deaths and One Child Injured

In the Ye-U Township of Sagaing Region, it has been reported that a civilian was killed due to the shelling by the terrorist military. The spokesperson for the Ye-U-based People’s Defense Comrade, Htun Khant Zaw (Amay Thar), told the Yangon Modern Media that on May 31, around 8:16 PM, troops of the terrorist military fired a 120mm artillery shell at Nyaungkon Village without any provocation, resulting in the death of 70-year-old Daw Kyi Sein. Around 8 PM last night, a 120mm artillery shell fired by military dogs from Ye-U Township landed in Nyaungkon Village and exploded, hitting Daw Kyi Sein, who was at home, in the head, and she died later that night, Htun Khant Zaw (Amay Thar) stated. Similarly, in the Mandalay Region’s Shweku Township, it has been reported that one civilian was killed, and one child was injured due to the shelling by the terrorist military, according to the Wetlet Informational Network. On June 1, in the late afternoon, soldiers stationed at the temple of Bhontakone in Shwepyi Village, Shweku Township, fired four 120mm shells, which exploded in Myakantha and Myathita villages, resulting in the death of an elderly woman around 80 years old and injuries to a 13-year-old child.
