Airstrikes by MI-35 Helicopter Force Residents of Ye-U Town to Flee

In Ye-U Town, Sagaing Region, while the military was resupplying troops and equipment with MI-17 helicopters, an MI-35 helicopter launched unprovoked airstrikes on nearby villages, forcing hundreds of residents to flee, according to Tu Khin Zaw, a spokesperson for the People’s Defense Comrade based in Ye-U.

On August 13, as the military was engaged in replenishing troops and supplies in Ye-U with MI-17 helicopters, an MI-35 helicopter conducted indiscriminate airstrikes in the vicinity of the Mu River, east of Ye-U Town.

The unprovoked airstrikes by the military have caused numerous residents to seek refuge in safer areas. As the military continues its operations in Ye-U Town, residents remain in fear due to the persistent aerial attacks while the military conducts its supply missions.
