Military Bombs Monhla Village in Khin-U Township, Destroys Houses in Thanlwin Village, Hsenwi Township

The Myanmar military bombed Monhla Village in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region, during the night, and Thanlwin Village in Hsenwi Township, Shan State, resulting in the destruction of several homes, according to local resistance groups.

On August 25, at approximately 7:53 PM and 7:58 PM, a Yak-130 fighter jet dropped two bombs on Monhla Village in the northwest of Khin-U Township, despite the absence of any ongoing clashes, said Htu Khant Zaw (Ame’s Son), a spokesperson for the People’s Defense Comrade based in Ye-U.

“We have yet to confirm the extent of the damage. There were no ground offensives or armed clashes at the time. Monhla is a Catholic village, home to Cardinal Charles Bo and many Christian residents. We are still investigating whether there were any casualties. Communications have been cut off,” Htu Khant Zaw added.

Similarly, MNDAA reported that the military conducted an airstrike on Thanlwin Village in Hsenwi Township, Shan State, destroying several homes. The bombing occurred on August 24 at around 3:40 PM, also without any ongoing clashes in the area.

The airstrike, carried out by a military aircraft, dropped two bombs, damaging three houses in the village. Fortunately, no civilian casualties were reported despite the destruction of homes.
