6 Civilians, Including an 8-Year-Old Child, Killed by Airstrike in Mying, No Fighting Reported

In Lakyetma village, Mying Township of Magway Region, an airstrike by the military killed six civilians, including an 8-year-old child, despite no ongoing fighting in the area, according to a representative from We Love Myaing. At least ten others were reported injured due to the attack.

On September 6, around 12:55 PM, the military’s jet fighter dropped three bombs on Lakyetma village, resulting in the fatalities of one child, three women, and two men. A spokesperson from We Love Myaing stated, “A family consisting of a woman over 50, two men over 30, and an 8-year-old girl were killed while entering the bomb crater. The bomb exploded directly in the family’s vicinity, leaving only the father alive. In total, six civilians have died.”

In addition, at least ten innocent civilians sustained injuries, and three school buildings along with two homes were destroyed. Approximately ten cattle owned by local residents were also reported killed in the attack.
