In a joint attack on the Pyusawhti camp and a military reinforcement column in Madawhla village, Khin U Township, over 30 military personnel, including one officer, were killed, while 11 PDF fighters lost their lives, according to a representative from the Khin U Township Information Group.

The offensive occurred on August 18 and 19 when combined resistance forces attacked the Pyusawhti camp in Madawhla village. Another ambush took place on August 31, targeting a military reinforcement column heading to the area, with significant casualties on both sides. Reports confirmed that over 30 military soldiers, including one officer, were killed during these clashes, while eight resistance fighters lost their lives.

On August 31, a joint military column composed of Pyusawhti members under Wathsawe and military troops stationed at the Kanbalu Sugar Mill, totaling around 170, launched a ground offensive, including airstrikes, on several villages near the border between Khin U and Kanbalu townships. Over 10,000 villagers were forced to flee, abandoning their monsoon paddy fields for over a month due to the ongoing conflict.

From August 31 to September 11, military columns burned down over 13 villages, including Nyaung Chaing, Inkyin Pin, Pauktaw, Saugyi, Thanat Sein, Tekkyee, Phankha Kone, and several others, destroying more than 400 houses. Local sources reported that on September 10, the military torched the villages of Gya Poe, Pauktin Ton, and Si Pote Ya. Additionally, three LDF fighters, who had been scouting the military’s movements, were shot dead near Madawgyi and Shwe Kya villages.

As of September 11, the military is believed to still be active around Madawgyi and Shwe Kya, prompting more villagers from surrounding areas, including those from Thayetkan, Pye Kone, and Pintein, to flee in fear of further attacks.
