Military Airstrikes on Tagangai Village Injure Two, Including a 9-Year-Old Girl

In a series of 14 airstrikes, the military targeted Tagangai Village in Kalay District, Sagaing Region, injuring two individuals, including a 9-year-old girl. Approximately six homes were also reported damaged during the attacks.

From noon to around 1:30 p.m. on September 28, military aircraft from the 6006th battalion conducted airstrikes using Mi-35 and Mi-2 helicopters, inflicting significant harm. The young girl, identified as Ma Khaing Thazawun, suffered severe leg injuries requiring amputation.

A local resident commented, “The attacks specifically targeted the village school. There were no active combat operations on the ground. The strikes involved both rockets and machine guns. One elderly person and a child were hit. The elderly person suffered an arm injury, while the child was struck in the leg. Thankfully, neither is in critical condition.”
