Reports from local sources indicate that the military junta is burning down houses along the Minetep-Matutupi main road in the western part of Minetep, Chin State, and shooting at residents attempting to extinguish the fires. Armed forces from the 274th Battalion in Minetep are reportedly transporting fuel from their camp to set fire to each home along the main road.

Additionally, the junta soldiers are firing on residents trying to put out the flames, preventing any efforts to control the fires. Currently, around 40 homes are still ablaze due to the military’s actions, according to a local resident from Hkl-Mindat, who reported the destruction on social media.

According to regional records, the junta has set fires six times during September alone. Between August 22 and September 27, 36 homes were reported destroyed due to the military’s arson attacks, as announced by CDF-Mindat.

Moreover, the military junta has continued airstrikes in Minetep, conducting 44 aerial attacks in August and September, injuring at least one civilian and damaging two schools, four monasteries, and nine residential homes, as reported by CDF-Mindat on September 29.
